Nestor is one of 4 GAP students that will spend 6 months at 7 Fountains Farm, the ZMF-C farm site where Kasensa and Tendai are.
Lukas, Roy and Kellon are the other 3.
We "trained" Kellon and Lucas in the month of December and in January it was a month of training for Nestor and Roy.
Kellon and Lucas will now complete 5 more months and then in June Roy and Nestor will do 5 months.
GAP year happens in sub-Saharan countries due to grade 12 results not being out until Feb/March and then there is variable amount of time before they can start applying for colleges. Each college seems to have a different start time.
So these ones will get results end of this month, or so, and then if they qualify can start applying for colleges later in the year and then begin college sometime in late 2014 or early 2015. The ball moves slowly, but its moving!
While on 7FF these "kids" are learning about leadership, culture, baby care, farm work....and they get paid...which will help them as they have to pay for college applications and transport to get to interviews.
Thanks again for helping all the kids - big and small!!
Nestor is feeding one of our new twins - Inonge.
