Faith, Hope and Joy

Faith (on right side) has been a Kasensa since shortly after her birth, Christmas day 2012.

Her aunt, Hope will care for her and the date for that is being negotiated.

Hope and Bonus have 7 children, Joy (on left side) being their youngest, plus have cared for a few other dependents bringing the number of children under their care up to 11.

They live on a large sugar plantation at Mazabuka, therefore they are among the few in Zambia living as middle income people.

School fees must be paid for those above grade 7, uniforms boughts...and food and ......

This in not a 2 income family as Hope has small children to care for and finding jobs are not that easy.
So....now how to fit another baby.....Faith.

That's the tricky piece. I hope to work something out with Social Welfare this week at Kalomo and get Faith up to Mazabuka by the end of the week. We've had Faith to Mazabuka twice - spending about 3 nights in all. She functions fine, except there is obvious jealousy between the 2 babies - with Faith biting Joy on one visit!

Faith's other sibs - about 5 of them....are struggling. The dad is unemployed and not attentive to the remaining children - several of them live with other aunties and they are struggling - for food, and the basics of life. Aunty Hope says she recently saw some of them and its not a pretty site, "but our house is already full". She has pangs of guilt for not being able to care for all of them.

Hope and Bonus are extremely active in their Christian church and they are attentive parents. Their kids perform well above average. They are BRIGHT!

Prayers are requested for reunification of Faith with her family - this week?!
